Official Dance-Off Rules
The Official Rules
These are the sacred laws of the dance-off. Follow them with honor and respect!
1You Are Served
When an organization records a challenge video and calls out your organization, you have officially been 'served'! This video challenge spreads awareness and gives you two choices: compete or donate.
2It's On
Once served, you must respond! Choose your path: Register your team and show up to compete live at the event, or support the cause by making a donation. Both responses help the community and show you've got spirit.
3Dance Instructor
Each team receives coaching from a professional Dimensions instructor who will help choreograph and perfect their routine.
4Bring It
When served (challenged via video), organizations have two options: Accept the challenge and register to compete live at the event, or make a donation to support the cause. Only teams who register and show up can compete for the win!
5Judges Decide
Impartial judges declare the winner based on style, originality, and attitude. Their decision is final and binding.
Remember
This competition is all about having fun while supporting a great cause. Bring your best moves, your team spirit, and your respect for fellow dancers. May the best team win!
The Dance Battle Tradition
Our "You Got Served" event celebrates the rich tradition of dance battles that have been a cornerstone of street dance culture for decades.
The three sacred rules of dance battles form the foundation of our competition: when you are served, it's automatically on, and then you have to bring it. These principles have guided dance battles across many styles and communities.
While our event transforms this competitive tradition into a positive community experience, we maintain the spirit of the challenge: accepting the call to dance and bringing your absolute best to the floor!
Competition Format
- Teams will be arranged in a tournament bracket.
- Each battle consists of two teams performing back-to-back.
